On the 14th of February 2022 a seminar on stereotypes and discrimination was held in Kaunas at the Vytautas Magnus University.
The seminar was devoted to the discussion about the difference between stereotypes and discrimination. After a short theoretical overview on scientific literature and key-concepts, we detected the functioning and use of stereotypes in discriminatory legal systems both in general terms and in the Lithuanian context. In particular, we focused on the discrimination of Jewish people in the interwar period, during the German occupation of Lithuania (1941-1944) and during the early soviet period (1940, and 1944-1945).
